Come join us in powerful learning and healing as master trainer Jim Amundsen guides us through two days of PBSP therapy.
About this Event

The Pesso Boyden System Psychomotor (PBSP; created in 1961 by Albert Pesso and Diane Boyden-Pesso) is a revolutionary, nontraditional therapeutic system available for emotional re-education or reprogramming. PBSP heals past emotional deficits using unique processes called ‘Structures’ and ‘Microtracking™’ that help clients to identify emotional deficits and create ‘new memories’. These ‘new memories’ provide symbolic fulfillment of the basic developmental needs of place, nurture, support, protection and limits. Many aspects of PBSP theories and techniques have close parallels in recent neuroscience findings about mirror neurons, empathy, morality, and the impact of language on the theory of mind (Pesso PBSP, 2011). For more detailed information about PBSP and about how the structures work, go to www.pbsp.com, and Chapter 18 of The Body Keeps The Score (Van der Kolk, B. (2014).).

Another way of looking at this therapy is: Are there aspects to yourself that you would like to heal, and for which other types of therapy have not worked? This is a different approach to healing trauma. As Van der Kolk puts it, PBSP therapy offers a way to create "an alternative memory in which your basic human needs are met and your longings for love and protection are fulfilled" (p 302).

There will be time and energy for a total of 9 participants to create/receive a structure (4 on Saturday and 5 on Sunday) and up to 30 people to attend as participant observers (as a participant observer, you may represent a character in a structure). Please note that your payment covers your attendance for both days. Also plan to bring your own lunch/snacks/water and wear comfortable clothing.

THIS EVENT IS NOT FREE. I just had to list it that way so we could use an alternate method of payment (see below) and to avoid unnecessary fees.

To participate as a recipient of a structure: $150

To participate as a participant-observer: $50

**Regarding payment: We will be using Venmo or PayPal. To pay me using Venmo, I am @zzahzzah; to use PayPal, be sure to designate me as a friend/family member and send to [email protected]. IF WE HAVE FULL CAPACITY FOR THIS EVENT, EVERYONE WILL RECEIVE A PRORATED DISCOUNT, TO BE REFUNDED AFTER THE EVENT HAS COMPLETED. The goal is to cover our expenses, not make money.
