About this Event

Featuring

Rich Hall

What can we say about this act that you don't already know? You know that Rich has appeared on just about every panel show in the history of ever (QI, Have I Got News For You, 8 out of 10 Cats, Would I Lie To You, Buzzcocks etc, etc). You know that he's also appeared on Live At The Apollo as both a guest AND a host, plus he's performed on Letterman, Saturday Night Live and Johnny Carson. You know that he tours theatres, plays festivals and has won many awards......BUT did you know that he was in Police Academy 2? Seriously! Look it up.

Tony Law

You might love Tony from his multiple TV appearance like The Russell Howard Show, Setlist, 8 out 10 Cats, Have I Got News For You or Stewart Lee's Alternative Comedy Experience. You might even love him from the extravagant comedy-on-ice-show Icetopia which won Chortle's Event of the Year or perhaps you love him from his many, many Edinburgh Fringe shows (including Comedy Panel nominated shows and award winners).

Mostly you love Tony Law because he is an absolute tornado of energy and entertainment.

Janine Harouni

One of the fastest rising comics on the UK circuit (her words, not ours but we concur). She’s won six newcomer awards, including the prestigious BBC New Comedy Award. Her debut Edinburgh hour earned her a nomination for Best Newcomer at the Edinburgh Fringe and was released as a special for Amazon Prime. She has appeared on ‘The Russell Howard Hour’ (Sky Max), ‘The John Bishop Show’ (ITV), ‘The Stand Up Sketch Show’ (ITV2), ‘The Now Show (BBC Radio 4), and is a series regular in Iain Stirling’s new sitcom ‘Buffering’ (ITV2).

Andrew O'Neill

Andrew's multiple TV credits include Never Mind The Buzzcocks, Saxondale, 50 Years Of Rock Excess, The Blame Game, Spicks and Specks and Good News Week. They host their own award winning Radio 4 stand-up show Pharmacist Baffler.

Andrew has also written and toured a shed-load of critically-acclaimed solo comedy shows, including Occult Comedian, Winston Churchill Was Jack The Ripper, MINDSPIDERS, Alternative, Andrew O'Neill is Easily Distracted and The Black Magic Fun Hour. All hail Andrew!

Heidi Regan

Another award winner! Heidi has won the BBC New Comedy award and So You Think You're Funny national competition. She has over a decade as comedy film and TV writer and is never off the radio, just look at these credits - Overthinker, No Worries, The Now Show, Grownupland (all BBC Radio 4!) Plus she's appeared at prestigious Just For Laughs festival and supported Joe Lycett, Milton Jones and Phil Wang.

Peter Buckley Hill.

The MAN HIMSELF! The founder of the PBH Free Fringe. The fella who has made the fringe happen for thousands (no exaggeration) of performers. Winner of the Festival Panelists Award in 2009. He has written multiple solo shows. including 40 Words which have gained rave reviews including five stars from the Scotsman.
In 2018 he published his first book called Freeing The Edinburgh Fringe.

Hosted by Steve McLean, a comedian who is obsessed with all things geek and nerd. His 2019 Edinburgh Fringe show, Action Figure Archive, made 3 top ten lists. The Herald said he was a ''Hilarious walk down memory lane'' while Wired Magazine said he was a ''A fun examination of nostalgia and nerdiness'. His TV credits include Charlie Brooker's Screenwipe (BBC), Soccer AM (Sky) and Very British Problems C5).

ABOUT THE PBH FREE FRINGE

The PBH Free Fringe is a non-profit organisation. Their main focus is to provide free performing spaces for artists during the Edinburgh fringe. The cost of the performing venues is one of the biggest expenses to acts at the Fringe. By providing free rooms the PBH Free Fringe has opened up the Fringe to many acts from many different backgrounds who would otherwise never be able to be included. In 2022 the Free Fringe also started looking at ways to reduce accommodation costs for performers.

The PBH Free Fringe relies on fundraising and donations and is staffed entirely by volunteers.

By supporting this event you help us support artists and enable us to keep the fringe open to all who wish to perform, not just those who can afford it.
