Getting paid for the first time can be exciting and confusing. Why is your paycheck less than expected? What are taxes for? And what do benefits actually mean?
This in-person Power Hour helps you understand how paychecks, taxes, and basic benefits work in a clear, practical way. We focus on real examples so you can feel confident understanding your earnings and asking smart questions at work.
During this session, you will:
- Learn how paychecks and take-home pay work
- Understand basic taxes and common deductions
- Learn what benefits are and why they matter
- Know what questions to ask when starting a job
- Build confidence understanding your compensation
SkillZilla Power Hours are interactive, supportive, and built for where you are right now. You do not need any prior money or work experience to participate.
This Power Hour works as a standalone session and also connects to SkillZilla cohorts and future opportunities.
