Feeding the Spirit and the YWCA Westmoreland County are teaming up to host an event to raise awareness of food scarcity in the Greensburg area. Their inaugural Chili Challenge will feature delicious, unique chili recipes from local restaurants, a basket raffle, and live music by Mr. Jones and the Diva. Several admission options are available: $10 for an adult; $5 for a child aged 10 and under; or $20 for an adult and a pay-it-forward meal for a local resident in need. All proceeds will directly benefit Feeding the Spirit and the YWCA.
Attendees will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite chili in three categories – best overall, most original, and hottest. The winner in each category will be honored at the event. To date nine local restaurants will be participating: 3 Stone Merchant, The Boulevard, The Headkeeper, Hoss’s, Jaffre’s, J. Corks, Marinades Grill, Marino’s Family Eatery, and Morelands at Waterworks.
