Join Lucy aka The Nottingham Forager for another community foraging and litter pick! Sunday May 4th @ 11am
Together we will explore the area's wild food
The focus for this session will be common edible plants, invasive leeks and St. George's Mushroom.
We will pick litter as we go (equipment provided but please bring your own if you have it!) and I'll throw a little local history in too!
The sessions last around 1.5 to 2 hours with time for questions and chatting at the end.
It's "Pay as you feel" with a suggested contribution of £10pp - but that's just a suggestion. I accept cash and card. Absolutely anything is fine including homemade crafts, jam, bread, drawings, paintings, poems, hugs, high fives, handshakes and enthusiastic thumbs up.
Kids and dogs are very welcome to join in the fun. There's usually plenty of both. Don't bother with any payment for those! Watching them run round enjoying it is enough for me!
The walk itself is around 1 mile or so long and we will mostly be on paths with some optional grass walking. It is pretty accessible but get in touch to talk about your individual requirements.
There are loos and cafe on site and they will be open. There's free car parking and it's directly on the tram route and several bus routes.
We meet outside The Pavillion Cafe near the main entrance. It's a big space with outdoor seating and you can't miss it. It's also clearly marked on Google maps. I'll be jumping around in brightly coloured clothes with baskets - you can't miss me.
Please arrive on time! We start promptly at 11 so please don't be late. We can't wait for you so if you miss us it's just tough turnips. Try again next time.
You can bring a small bag, basket or tub for your sustainable foraging. No other equipment required. Please listen to all instructions about how to forage safely and sustainably throughout the session.
