Join us in shaping a more inclusive community with our free "Paws for Inclusion" sessions. Learn about service dogs, public access rights in Nova Scotia, reducing barriers for service dog teams and creating welcoming spaces.Every day, Nova Scotians who rely on service dogs face barriers most people never think about, being questioned, turned away, or doubted when simply trying to go about their daily lives.
Many of these situations stem from a lack of awareness about accessibility laws and the rights of service dog teams. In a recent survey by Assistance Dogs International, nearly half of handlers reported being refused service in the past year, and many said they’ve felt unwelcome or unsafe in public spaces.
We believe education can change that!
That’s why Wellness Wags Assistance Dogs, In partnership with the @halifaxcentralchb is hosting Paws for Inclusion: Enhancing Accessibility with Service Dogs, a free, accessible community event series designed to build understanding and inclusion across Nova Scotia. Together, we can make our communities more welcoming for everyone.
Join us this November in Halifax for an engaging session featuring a live presentation, puppy meet-and-greet, and open Q&A.
