Join us for this Spring’s edition of PAWAC Reads! Recommended by Jim Foley of the International Trade Center at Bradley University, PAWAC will be reading “The New India: The Unmaking of the World’s Largest Democracy” by Rahul Bhatia. This book explores the slow, but steady decline of democracy that has followed a cascade of events ushered in by a nationalist and religious movement that has taken hold of the government. The growing divisions between those who adore Modi and those who don’t, and are branded unpatriotic traitors, is a theme all democracies should note. The group will discuss how they feel about Bhatia’s conclusions and the lessons for democracies everywhere. This quarterly book club is FREE & open to any members who read the selection.
