Join PAWA members again for a fun paint-out on Whidbey Island, at Amy Hauser's beautiful farm. Stunning pastoral and mountain (when skies are clear) views, assorted out-buildings, just waiting to be immortalized in paint, cute red hereford steers who love to pose, colorful collies who don't pose as well, historic Central Whidbey red farm buildings in view, and convenient driving distance (1-2 miles) to historic Coupeville, Ebey's Landing, ferry to Port Townsend, Penn Cove and more. Please feel free to contact for more info:

PHOTOS : Top image is sunrise reflected on the Olympic Mountains, as seen from Amy's front porch. Bottom image is from Amy's front yard, of their two resident steers who are happy to pose.

Meeting location: Meet at Amy's home :-

879 Field View Ln, Coupeville, WA 98239

Directions - from various possible routes:

Whidbey Island is accessible from the south via ferry from Mukilteo, the west via ferry from Pt Townsend and the north, via the Deception Pass Bridge. You can look up ferry schedules at wsdot.gov/ferries

NOTE GOOGLE MAPS AND SOME OTHER GPS SYSTEMS DO NOT RECOGNIZE AMY'S ADDRESS. YOU CAN ENTER 48°11'40.4"N 122°39'40.1"W or FT CASEY ROAD. FIELD VIEW LANE IS ACCESSED DIRECTLY FROM FT CASEY RD, THE NEAREST CROSS STREET IS BURCHELL RD.

Apple Maps works.

We have a long gravel drive, and are the SECOND house at the end(879). The gate swings OUT. Plenty of parking here, after you close gate behind you. Our house is farmhouse style, with large wrap-around front porch, white trim.

Please be very careful if the dogs are in the yard. They like to herd cars, and trust you to not run over them. Please make sure gate is securely closed behind you, so they don't herd the rest of the island.

Lunch plans: Time: 12-1 (ish), or whenever you're hungry. Please bring your own lunch/beverages. We continue to practice Covid-safe, as Amy worked in healthcare for decades and knows too much (lol!). Windows to house for facilities will be open.

Prairie Center Market is just a mile or so down the road (corner of Terry Rd and S Main St, Coupeville); restaurants nearby..

There is also excellent espresso at Prairie Perks, by the old bowling alley, on Terry Rd. They don't really serve food items, however.

After lunch:

Feel free to come and go as you wish. There is a TON to see in Central Whidbey! I will plan to stay here throughout the day, but if any people want to explore, that's fine!

End of day plan: I would love to see your creations before you leave. Or, text me a pic! 360-914-0518. No formal plans. It's island life. ;-)

Recommended Lodging/camping: Airbnb, Ft Casey or Ebey's State Parks (book in advance!), Anchorage Inn. Other possibilities on N and S end of island (Oak Harbor, Langley).

FAQs:

Pack for who-knows-what-the-weather-will be.

PLEASE, do not bring pets, even if you leave them in your car. Thanks. We have plenty you can visit with here

Is there water, bathrooms, shelter available? Yes.

Is there cell coverage at the location? Best with ATT; Verizon works ok.

Other notes: Discover Pass is required if you wish to explore and park in the lot at Ebey's Landing, although there is often available parking along the waterfront side of the road.

If you signed up and find you can't attend after all, please cancel on Eventbrite so that the facilitator may have a proper head count.

All paint-outs are for Plein Air Washington members. It is easy to join PAWA online. It is a good idea to print out this Eventbrite page to bring with you to be able to refer to this information.

Thank you for signing up and HAPPY PAINTING!
