Harley Aveiro, Southeast US & Carribean Region Manager for Paul Hobbs Wines -

A Brazilian native from Uberaba, Minas Gerais, a region well known for cattle ranching and agriculture, said that the most notable agricultural product is coffee for exports.

Harley's early interest in wine was sparked by his Portuguese father's family, who savored a few glasses of wine during meals. He holds cherished memories of the distinctive shapes of Lancers and Mateus bottles that graced the family table.

His deep interest in all aspects of food and wine only truly flourished in the early 1990s, after migrating to the US when he embarked on a career in the hospitality industry. He quickly rose through the front-of-the-house ranks, transitioning from entry-level roles to Head Sommelier and Wine Director. He is certified by CMS-Court of Master Sommeliers Advance Level & W.S.E.T. Level 3, and later advanced to Director of F&B Operations.

Harley was fortunate enough to have worked with some of the best hotels and restaurant operations in the US, like Four Seasons Hotel Philadelphia and Lacroix Restaurant Philadelphia (with acclaimed Chef Jean-Marie Lacroix), Wolfgang Puck, Rosa Mexicano, and Capital Grille in multiple locations throughout the Northeast, Midwest and Florida.

After a successful career in the hotel & restaurant, he found himself seeking a new challenge and for the past 10+ years, immersed himself in the wholesale wine business working in importing and distribution, most recently as Managing/Partner of a small startup company with offices in Texas and Florida before joining the Paul Hobbs Wines team in 2015.

Not surprisingly, his favorite hobbies are cooking for family and friends and discovering food and wines from around the globe.
