Excited to support @Counting Stars Ranch for Patriots in the Park on December 6th for this FREE event for veterans at Teague Park in Longview, Texas. Bring your lawn chairs, this event is open to the public, Brisket sandwich is FREE to first 100 attendees or until gone.
David and Dr. Vicki Smithers founded Counting Stars Ranch in Ore City, TX in 2021. David's dream was to raise service dogs for veterans and 1st responders with PTSD. He also wanted veterans and 1st responders to enjoy the great outdoors. God allowed him to heal and find peace at the Ranch and loved to share that with others. David passed away 6/26/24 at the age of 55. Vicki and a group of veterans are running the 501c3 and continuing retreats for veterans and 1st responders in David's honor.
The 152 acre ranch is nestled in the piney woods near Lake of the Pines and Barnwell Mountain Outdoor Recreational Vehicle Park. We have 2 fishing ponds and acres of walking trails.
Mission statements – We provide military Veterans and First Responders with service related disabilities and their service dogs support and a peaceful environment to rest, relax and renew. We connect Veterans/First Responders with local services, build community and assist them in building a stronger and more effective bond with their service dog.
