In the beginning of August young Patrick, who is 12 years young, was having issues with earaches and headaches which prompted his parents to bring him to the doctor. After multiple back and forth visits to doctors' offices, emergency rooms, multiple blood tests and imaging they found out the most devastating news. Patrick was diagnosed with Embryonal Rhabdomyosarcoma, a form of childhood cancer. The following day, Patrick had a port placed, a PET scan, a bone marrow biopsy, and started medicine to treat the cancer. Since then, Patrick has been undergoing weekly Chemo treatments both inpatient and outpatient and he started Proton Radiation Therapy 5 days a week for 6 weeks November 11th. Medical expenses have already begun piling up, as to be expected during unprecedented times. Furthermore, his parents, Patrick Sr. and Mary, strive to spend as much time beside their ailing child as physically possible, as any loving parent would do. However, the numerous doctors' appointments and nights spent in the hospital are starting to add up, leading to lost wages from missed days at work. We have all rallied together to throw a benefit in their honor to raise as much funds as we can during this time.
