About this Event
Last year, Patrick Dreher captivated us with ‘Carving the Invisible’, where he explored the rich history of stone carving in Idar-Oberstein and within his own family. He also shared how the size, texture, and color of rough stones inspire the animals that can be brought to life through carving.
This year, Patrick takes it a step further. In ‘Carving the Invisible II’, he will delve deeper into how the physical properties of minerals – such as hardness, cleavage, inclusions, and optical effects – shape his creative process and influence the final design of his intricate animal carvings.
