CZ 🇨🇿 Koncert z hudby Stravinského, Bartóka, Milhauda a Schönberga, jehož ústředním dílem je Pierrot lunaire s Patricií Kopatchinskou v hlavní roli. „Pierrota nemůžete nikdy opravdu pochopit. A ani nemusíte. Je to obraz z tónů, blízký životu a světu snů,“ říká o symbolistním díle rezidenční umělkyně Pražského jara 2025. Arnold Schönberg ho napsal v roce 1912 na vybrané texty ze stejnojmenné sbírky Alberta Girauda, místo zpěvu zde však uplatnil techniku tzv. Sprechstimme (mluvícího hlasu). Recitátor sice zachovává předepsaný rytmus, tóny ale intonuje pouze přibližně se snahou o emotivně vyhrocený a zároveň bezprostřední výraz. Kopatchinskaja se v Pierrotovi ujme nikoliv houslí, ale hlavní mluvené role, kterou již v minulosti vytvořila například ve spolupráci se členy Berlínských filharmoniků, Göteborských či Montrealských symfoniků nebo Asko/Schönberg Ensemble v Rotterdamu. EN 🇬🇧 Music by Stravinsky, Bartók and Milhaud, along with a pivotal 20th century work by Arnold Schönberg Pierrot lunaire, featuring the superb Patricia Kopatchinskaja as Pierrot. “You can’t really understand it. And you don’t have to. It is tone-painting, musical rhetoric. The piece feels close to life and to the world of dreams,” states Prague Spring Artist-in-Residence 2025 Patricia Kopatchinskaja on the Symbolist work Pierrot lunaire. Arnold Schönberg wrote the piece in 1912 to selected poems from the collection of the same name by Albert Giraud. Instead of sung texts, however, here he applied the technique known as Sprechstimme (“speech-voice” or spoken voice), where the reciter keeps to the prescribed rhythm, while the notes are only approximated; the vocalist uses the specified pitches but does not sustain them, allowing them to drop or rise, in the manner of speech – and this in an endeavour to create an emotively intense expression along with a sense of immediacy. In Pierrot Kopatchinskaja won’t be playing the violin: she’ll be taking on the main spoken role, which she has already performed in the past in association with members of the Berlin Philharmonic, the Gothenburg and Montreal Symphony Orchestras and also the Asko/Schönberg Ensemble in Rotterdam. She is coming to Prague with a group of fabulous instrumentalists, musicians with whom she recorded this groundbreaking work in 2021 for Alpha Classics.
