About this Event

Guest Speaker: Michael Rajan

Faculty of Law, University of Alberta Director, Internationally Trained Lawyer Pathway (ITLP)

About the Event

Students interested in practising law in Canada are invited to an in‑person session with Michael Rajan, who leads the Internationally Trained Lawyer Pathway (ITLP) at the University of Alberta. This programme supports internationally educated law graduates in meeting the National Committee on Accreditation (NCA) requirements needed to qualify as a lawyer in Canada.

The University of Alberta currently has Essex graduates enrolled on the ITLP, and Michael is visiting to speak directly with students about:

· The NCA accreditation process

· Alberta as a route to Canadian legal qualification

· Programme structure, exemptions, and academic requirements

· How Essex modules (e.g., Canadian Constitutional Law) may support future applications
