This event provides advice for businesses on creating training and employment opportunities for SEND and NEET young people in Oxfordshire.
About this Event

The event aims to bridge the gap between major development projects and local employment and training initiatives. It will provide information and practical advice for how a business can collaborate with Oxfordshire learning providers and employment support services for young people (aged 16-24) who are NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training) and young people with SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) in order to create invaluable work and training opportunities and fill gaps in the workforce.

This event is relevant for developers, planning consultants, contractors and hospitality industry professionals who are supporting Community Employment Plans and/or employment, skills training plans within Oxfordshire. The event aims to demonstrate how employers can collaborate with training providers and employment support services to support NEET and SEND learners into employment.

There will be an opportunity to hear best practice and the business perspective from major Oxfordshire employers and learn more about the facilities at Oxford City Campus to support SEND learning.

Travel information:

Car

Westgate parking
Address: Westgate Oxford, Castle Street, Oxford, OX1 1NZ. If driving into the city follow signs or direct sat nav to Thames Street (OX1 1TS) and look for the turning down to the underground car park. It is card payments only. Parking is limited so Park & Ride is always recommended. Expresses buses will take you into the centre of Oxford if you choose to Park & Ride.

Bus or train
The city-centre campus is well served by local buses into Oxford from most areas of Oxfordshire and is a 10-minute walk from Oxford Railway Station Due to the Botley Road closure, anyone travelling by bus to the campus from the Western side of the city (including services from Witney, Wantage and Swindon) will need to leave the bus at the final stop and then continue on foot.
