About this Event
Pathways Through Play - Connecting to your Community
The City of Kamloops, the RCMP and PacificSport Interior BC are eager to invite you to an empowering event focused on self-growth, mindfulness, and community well-being. This event is designed to empower both youth and caregivers by exploring key topics related to personal growth and community well-being. Paralympians Greg Stewart and Jennifer McCreesh will focus on the benefits of self-empowerment and mindfulness through sports and team activities. They will discuss how participating in these activities can help build confidence, teamwork, and resilience, promoting mental well-being while also strengthening physical health.
Additionally, we will have an insightful presentation on the issue of youth gang recruitment, where an expert will share crucial information about the tactics used by gangs to recruit young individuals. Cpl. Gilmor with CFSEU-BC will cover the warning signs parents should be aware of and provide practical strategies for preventing involvement in gangs. Together, these discussions aim to give parents/caregivers and their children valuable tools to navigate challenges, build strong support networks, and foster positive life choices.
Free even, however donations accepted at the door to support amateur youth sport
