About this Event
Join us for a meaningful story time, geared towards Healing After Loss, with Amanda Davis, author of Moonlight Memories. Amanda will do a story time with a meaningful art activity: coloring and decorating wooden moon/star ornaments with images, words, and/or colors that remind them of a loved one lost.
MOONLIGHT MEMORIES tells the story of a young girl who is dealing with the loss of a loved one and finds comfort and healing through creativity. This story holds a special place in my heart as it was inspired by my own personal experience with loss. At a young age, my father passed away. After his death, I was unsure of how to cope with this unexpected loss. It wasn’t until I found art and writing that I was able to fully process the thoughts and emotions surrounding his death. I found my outlet. I found my voice. I soon realized that my father would always live on through the memories I was creating with my words and visuals. To this day, I find comfort in creativity.

If you know a child who is healing after the loss of a loved one, please share this event. Stories have a way of helping children feel seen and can help process emotions. This beautiful story is a wonderful resource for families helping children through grief.
