Sam Peckinpah's lyrical ode to the tragic friendship between Billy the Kid and his killer Pat Garrett is the only film ever to feature an original score from Bob Dylan. Dylan also acts in the film as the appropriately enigmatic character Alias, an outlaw who travels with the Kid(Kris Kristofferson RIP). Peckinpah's theme, more than ever, is the closing of the frontier and the nature of the loss that that entails. The film nudges us toward recognizing Old West outlawry as an early form of rock stardom--flesh-and-blood gods for a primitive society to feed on.COME EARLY! Doors 6:30pm, pre-show 7pm
