About this Event
Past & Pints is a laid-back history night built for people who’d rather learn something interesting with a cold beer in hand.
Join local historian, author, and YouTuber Dylan Almendral at Cerveza Cito Brewery in Downtown Santa Ana for a lively, story-driven talk tracing Orange County’s relationship with alcohol—from the county’s earliest days to the modern craft boom. We’ll move through the eras that shaped how people drank, where they gathered, what laws tried (and often failed) to control it, and how those choices influenced local culture, business, and community life.
Expect a fast-paced mix of surprising facts, colorful characters, and “wait…that happened here?” moments—plus plenty of time to hang out, compare notes, and enjoy the brewery before and after the talk.
What to expect
- A fun, accessible talk (no lecture vibes)
- Local history, scandals, and turning points—from saloons to Prohibition to today
- Time for Q&A and conversation
- Great beer and good company in the heart of DTSA
Come solo or bring friends. Grab a pint. Leave with better stories.
