Kyle Marshall Choreography (KMC) is a dance company that sees the dancing body as a container of history, an igniter of social reform and a site of celebration. Julius Eastman (1940 – 1990) was a proudly gay, Black American composer, pianist, vocalist, and dancer who died in relative obscurity, and has gained recognition posthumously for his pioneering contributions to the classical avant-garde.
PASS: Performing Arts Salon Saturdays residency program is made possible through generous lead support from the Howard Gilman Foundation, with additional support from the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature, the Samuel I. Newhouse Foundation, and the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council. Snug Harbor is a proud partner with the CUNY Dance Initiative.
The CUNY Dance Initiative receives major support from the Howard Gilman Foundation and Mertz Gilmore Foundation. Additional support is provided by the SHS Foundation, Harkness Foundation for Dance, and the National Endowment for the Arts.
