Let’s explore together the vocal and instrumental repertoire in four parts of the “Siglo de Oro” the highest level of artistic – and musical – achievements of the Iberian Peninsula from the late 1400’s to the late 1600’s. The music ranges from early Renaissance to Baroque developed on figured bass (ruggero xacaras folia) or on famous traditional melodies taken from popular tradition and complex rhythms.
The ensemble is composed of a quartet of viola da gambas harp lute and countertenor.
