About this Event
This season, Party with a Purpose brings friends and partners together to support families who are working hard to remain stable during a time of rising need. In our inaugural event, Haute Affairs is partnering with Volunteers of America Chesapeake & Carolinas (VOACC) to highlight the growing challenges families face in accessing food and basic necessities. We invite you to join us for an evening that celebrates community, joy and collective generosity.
VOACC is a faith-based nonprofit that has worked for 129 years to create Healthy Communities for All through housing, health and human services. Each year, VOACC serves more than 9,700 individuals and families across Maryland, DC, Virginia and the Carolinas through more than 37 programs. They fill critical gaps in housing, care and support for individuals and families who are experiencing homelessness, low income, limited insurance coverage, justice involvement or other complex challenges.
You can learn more about their impact in the VOACC Annual Report here:
Why Your Support Matters
Families across our region continue to feel the effects of changing federal and state policies that shape SNAP benefits and other food programs. The rollback of pandemic-era flexibilities and stricter eligibility requirements have reduced support for many households at a time when grocery prices remain high. VOACC is seeing these impacts every day. More families are stretching limited resources and turning to community partners like you for help.
This is why your support is so important. Grocery gift cards offer immediate relief and allow families to choose the items they need most.
Witnessing the Why Live
In the best testimonial as to WHY we're committed to assisting those underserved in our community, witness Nicholle Granger deliver a gift card for a client that has benefitted in multiple ways from Volunteers of America Chesapeake & Carolinas, Inc.
Experience a Story of Hope
During the event, guests will hear from Dr. Joseph George III, a nationally acclaimed lyricist. Dr. George is not only performing live, he is also a VOACC success story. A short video about his personal journey and the support he received through VOACC is included below for you to watch. We encourage you to view it before the event to see the direct, personal impact your contribution can make.
