About Our Speakers:

Lauren Kaufman, Managing Director, PR

Lauren likes to bring people and travel brands together. It starts with her exceptional public relations experience that includes representing destinations, hotels and resorts, luxury cruises, spas, airlines, and travel products. A powerful asset to her clients, her expertise shapes the department’s best practices for effective strategies, partnerships, promotions and special events. She’s also brought home five Platinum Adrian Awards from the Hospitality Sales Marketing Association International.

As managing director of MMGY, she leads the agency’s day-to-day operations, staff development and new business initiatives, in addition to managing strategy and brand positioning for her clients. After more than 25 years, Lauren’s experience is as impressive as it is extensive. She’s worked with many travel agency clients including InsightCuba, Alexander & Roberts and International Expeditions plus destinations like Visit Atlantic City, Fort Myers: Islands, Beaches and Neighborhoods, Tahiti Tourisme and The British Virgin Islands Tourist Board, in addition to major brands like W Boston, The Westin Copley Place, Boston, Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa, Oceania Cruises, The Algonquin, New York Marriott Marquis and the Harley-Davidson Museum.

The Phi Beta Kappa, magna cum laude Bachelor of Arts graduate of Binghamton University believes that traveling makes the world a smaller place. While visiting more than 55 countries has shaped her, her most priceless souvenirs are the close friendships she’s made along the way.

Lea Komitzky, Senior Account Director, PR

Lea has over a decade of experience working with a diverse set of clients in the travel, tourism and lifestyle/entertainment space, both in Las Vegas and New York City. As a Senior Account Director at MMGY, she oversees day-to-day operations serving as account lead for several destination and hotel clients including the Visit Atlantic City, Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa, I LOVE NY, Fort Myers - Islands, Beaches & Neighborhoods, North Carolina’s Crystal Coast, among others.

Before joining MMGY, Lea worked at Berk Communications managing client operations for hotel brands across the Maldives, Mexico, the Bahamas, and St. Lucia. In Las Vegas, she worked on major events including Electric Daisy Carnival, Life is Beautiful Music & Arts Festival, USA Sevens International Rugby Tournament, South Point 400 (NASCAR), and more.
Born and raised in Philadelphia, Lea graduated from Boston University with a Bachelor of Science in public relations. She grew up traveling to the Jersey Shore every summer and always looks for her chance to visit every year. Outside of MMGY Global, Lea loves to travel the world and try NYC's newest restaurants.
