About this Event
We're teaming up with the legends at Parramatta River Catchment Group and heading into Duck Creek for a Paddle Against Plastic. This part of the creek has a lot of debris washed in from surrounding streets and due to the area flooding it is up on the banks, as well as stuck in the trees that have fallen in the river. Our mission is to use kayaks to get you to the rubbish and remove as much as possible in the morning.
You need to book a ticket to secure your craft. You can rent one of our kayaks for a small fee or BYO craft. If you BYO you may join at any time for as long as you like.
This is a child friendly event and we encourage you to bring the family along to help them understand that keeping our waterways clean is essential for the wellbeing of marine life.
Meet at the Silverwater Boat Ramp and we'll paddle around into Duck Creek from there. We'll provide all the cleaning tools however please wear appropriate clothing such as long pants and sleeves, hat and shoes you don't mind getting wet and muddy as you are liekly to need to get out of the craft to clean properly.
