About this Event
Please note this is an invitation-only event.
The United Nation’s World Soil Day is held annually on 5 December to focus attention on soil and the critical role it plays in supporting life on earth. It is a day to celebrate soil, to reflect on its significance and promote the importance of soil health and the sustainable management of soil resources.
The theme for the World Soil Day 2024—"Caring for Soils: Measure, Monitor, Manage"—underscores the importance of accurate soil data and information in understanding soils characteristics and supporting informed decision-making on sustainable soil management for food security.
This annual event has been hosted by the Co-Chairs of the Parliamentary Friends of Soil since the group was established and launched on World Soil Day 2020.
The event is supported by Soil Science Australia, the Soil CRC and SoilsForLife.
