In an effort to ensure local voices are heard, The Park Record is launching a new community listening series featuring its journalists. The series encourages citizens to share their thoughts about local news issues such as development, education, public safety and quality-of-life issues. The in-person forums will allow community members to meet with a local reporter and/or editor to raise concerns and ask questions that will help shape The Park Record’s coverage. The goal is to build trust, understand what issues are most important, and learn what information the Wasatch Back needs from the news.
The first community listening session is scheduled from 8 to 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 19, at Lucky Ones Coffee in the Park City Library, and the drinks are on us. After all, there’s no better morning ritual than a cup of coffee and reading a newspaper.
You are invited to join Deputy Editor Toria Barnhart — who recently has covered topics including the Dakota Pacific Real Estate development, the ongoing Kouri Richins murder trial and the closure of the Elk Meadows Assisted Living and Memory Care facility — and Chief Photographer Clayton Steward to share story ideas and more.
