About this Event
Navigating the early stages of an autism diagnosis can feel overwhelming, especially while waiting for ABA services to begin. This first session in our While You Wait parent training series is designed to empower caregivers with essential knowledge and practical strategies to support their child’s development during this waiting period.
In this session, we will:
- Provide a clear understanding of autism and how it impacts learning and behavior
- Discuss the importance of structure, routine, and predictability in daily life
- Introduce foundational communication and engagement strategies
- Offer simple, research-backed techniques to encourage positive interactions and reduce frustration
Parents will leave with actionable steps they can implement immediately to create a supportive and enriching environment for their child. This session is open to caregivers at any stage of their journey and serves as a valuable starting point while preparing for ABA services.
