Parents, let's face it: whether your child is finger-painting or navigating quadratic equations, they're already interacting with technology we barely understand. Now, the algorithms behind the scenes are influencing their education.Blankner PTSA invites you to an eye-opening session where we’ll pull back the curtain on how AI is being used in academics (and how parents can use it to help with homework without having to re-learn geometric proofs).
We’ll dive into digital citizenship and the ethical abyss. Learn what kind of boundaries need to be set when your 3rd grader is asking a chatbot for "help" with a report on the solar system, or when your 7th grader uses it to write a perfect book report.
This high-stakes discussion will be led by two people who actually know what they’re talking about:
-An engineering leader who works for a tech company you likely use every day, that has a leading AI tool which definitely helped us write this event description... we just can't name names ;)
-A seasoned faculty member from UCF (and tech business owner) who deals with the real-world implications of AI in the education space
Ultimately, this is about getting ahead of the curve so you can effectively supervise your child's digital life and teach them how to use these powerful tools responsibly, before they hit high school. Come get informed, swap war stories, and realize we're all just figuring out how to raise humans in the age of robots.
