Noon Moon Comedy returns to the Boiler room with headliner, Pardis Parker, out of Los Angeles and feature act, Alex Carr, out of Vancouver!Pardis is a comedian who performs across North America. He is also writer, and filmmaker known for creating and starring in Comedy Central’s Mideast Minute. He is also the creator of Free, a new comedic drama in development at Amazon Prime with Plan B Entertainment.
His writing has appeared in The New Yorker, The New York Times, The New York Review of Books, and more. As a performer, he’s a six-time Canadian Comedy Award nominee, a frequent guest on @midnight, and a stand-up comedian with multiple TED Talks.
His short films and music videos have earned over 80 awards, with praise from The Playlist, Film School Rejects, and Radio Canada, which called him "a kind of Seth MacFarlane—multi-talented in writing, directing, and acting."
Alex Carr has a lot of funny stories to tell: he’s worked as a fast-food employee, a bellman at a hotel, a used car salesman, a landlord, and even sold cable door-to-door in one of Detroit’s most dangerous neighbourhoods. So naturally, it makes sense to bring all of that life experience to the stage.
Alex makes people laugh over real-life situations, current events, and his own personal experiences from living coast to coast, mixed with fast-paced audience interactions.
Currently based in Vancouver, BC, he headlines venues across the country and can be found most weeknights doing stand-up comedy at local clubs. You can also hear him on the radio daily on SONiC 104.7 Vancouver, SONiC 102.9 Edmonton, and JACK FM stations across the country.
Catch both of these hilarious acts at the Boiler Room on April 4 and 5.
