ParaVox is a new anthology magazine from Tusen Serier, and a space for anti-racist comics made by a collection of international comics creators.
https://www.tusenserier.org/paravox/call1-4/
First out is a combined call for submissions for the first 4 issues, all of which will be published during 2026:
#1: PALESTINE
The second ”ceasefire” in Gaza turned out to be not much more than an empty phrase, and the struggle is far from over. Israel’s genocide is a continuation of decades of occupation and apartheid, but also of Palestinian resistance. As the violence persists, it affects not just Gaza and Palestine, but also neighboring countries like Lebanon, Syria, and Iran, and while people all over the world are protesting, many states and corporations are complicit in what can’t be called anything other than a genocide.
Give us your thoughts on the situation: educational, journalistic, personal, political, revolutionary, anything from the river to the sea…
All profits from this issue will be donated to support the people in Gaza via Senabil Society.
Deadline: Feb 15, 2026
#2: (ANTI)RACISM
Long ago, European countries propagated the notion of white supremacy, of how other races would inevitably perish to make room for the (Western) European peoples. Today, race is mostly not talked about openly in that way, but the same notions live on and thrive in many circles, even if expressed in other ways. These days there’s talk of culture, religion and criminality, but there is always an implied image of who has an obvious right to a space and who must always justify our existence, be grateful, obedient and assimilated. Racism is not just about how we look at each other on the streets or at work, but also about how our lives are concretely affected by legislation around migration, discrimination, behavior and culture.
We want comics looking at the phenomena of racism and antiracism from different angles, bringing personal experiences, theoretical reasoning, and visual interpretations.
Deadline: Apr 5, 2026
#3: SNITCH SOCIETY / ANGIVERISAMHÄLLETS BAKSIDOR
Some may think it seems cozy and secure, but it will inevitably affect the innocent, especially when the law is designed precisely to attack people whose only crime is to seek a haven in a country they were not born in. That in itself is bad enough. But will it even stop at authorities and public employees reporting undocumented people? Or will it also become a national duty to report those who do not behave ”correctly” enough according to some nationalist standards, when there’s already been talk of ”lack of conduct” as a reason for punishing school children? What happens to the public psyche when laws are introduced that will force us to keep an eye on each other, suspect each other and report each other? And above all: what ways are there to refuse and to resist?
In this issue, we take a look at the consequences of living under the threat of being reported for being someone who isn’t seen as fitting in in the country. Informed on by public employees, government officials and/or neighbors and even family members. We look at consequences of not being able to trust one’s environment and, from the other side, being forced by the law to be part of such a hostile environment.
Since the Swedish ”snitch law” was introduced in 2024 (in a slightly less extensive capacity than proposed, but still far worse than what we should accept), other laws have made things even worse for immigrants, both with and without a residence permit. But Sweden is globally only one example of an ongoing development of laws used for racist purposes, from salary requirements for residence permit to abductions and concentration camps.
Deadline: May 5, 2026
#4: MISINFORMATION
Misinformation and disinformation are growing concerns in our time, with deliberate politically motivated misdirection, with myths being spread in good faith on social media. News media repeating lies from cops and represenatives for genocidal states. Search engines as well as academic papers relying on AI to provide answers to questions that previously required thorough research and source criticism. This issue explores the myths, rumors, and lies that are filling the air around us. From comedic satire to astonishing fallacies to manipulations of apocalyptic proportions.
Do vaccines cause climate change? Are experts autistic? Are white babies being replaced by AI? What is real? Who can we trust? Where is the information society headed, and can we come with it?
Deadline: Jul 5, 2026

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
COMICS
Number of pages: We prefer comics that are about 1-12 pages, but any number is welcome.
Format: 19 x 27 cm
Color: Color / Black and white
Language: English or Swedish
File format: .TIF
Resolution: 1200 dpi line art or 300 dpi CMYK (profile: PSO coated V3, or you can send it in RGB and we’ll convert it)
Bleed: 5mm. If you’re not completely sure how to handle bleed, check this guide from our friends at CBA to make sure you know what we mean.
TEXT ARTICLES
We will also publish a small number of text articles, and will consider anything that fits into the theme.
Length: A good size for a text is ca 7500 characters (including spaces), but it can also be longer or shorter.
Questions? If anything is unclear when you’re preparing your files (format, resolution, bleed, etc), feel free to ask us! Stupid questions are always better than bad files (and there are no stupid questions)!
Delivery: We prefer download links that do NOT require us to login anywhere (or download links from your domain, etc).
Please send us high-resolution files from the start. This saves time and our deadlines will often be pretty tight.
Include a short bio, with one URL (if you have a website, social media etc). Length: 500-700 characters. Write in 3rd person. Should be more entertaining/informative bio, rather than boring CV. Let us know if you for some reason want to be anonymous and have a preferred pseudonym.
Exhibition permission: We will probably organize exhibitions showcasing sample pages. Please let us know if you’re NOT ok with us using your works for that purpose. If you don’t say otherwise, we will assume that it’s ok.
Policy on generative AI: We do not accept submissions that are created using generative AI.
Payment: We can’t say in advance how much we’ll be able to pay for material, and it probably won’t be a lot. When the year is finished and all our expenses have been summed up, whatever’s left in the budget will be shared among all participants. Tusen Serier is a non-profit organisation and everything we do is dependent on various forms of financial support, so we can’t know in advance how much we will have any given year.
Artist copies: If we publish your submission you will receive 5 free copies of the issue.
Copyright: Naturally, copyright for your material will stay in your hands. We don’t demand exclusivity, but feel free to let us know if your comic is also published somewhere else.
Send comics, questions, etc to: submissions(a)tusenserier(.)org
We will do our best to reply to all submissions. If yours is selected, we will definitely let you know.
Feel free to share this call for submissions to any comics creator you think would be interested!
