A ghost hunt in the tunnels deep below Portsdown Hill beneath a Victorian Fort. Dark, creepy and full of shadowy paranormal activity.Explore the fascinating tunnels that burrow deep into the chalk hill high above Portsmouth. Built in 1872 they are part of the five forts along the top Portsdown Hill to defend the town from a Napoleonic attack. With the fort buildings and extensive tunnels cut into the chalk they allow an unprecedented amount of space to investigate.
With experiments especially designed for the location this is an investigation not to be missed.
Join Dark Encounters for this specially modified event to comply with COVID-19 safety regulations. In safe groups you will get to investigate this location for yourselves; setting up and carrying out the experiments and recording your observations. So whether it is a lone vigil in a tunnel, EVP experiments in one of the caponiers, or Dowsing experiments on the parade ground you will be in the heart of the action.
At the beginning of your evening your dedicated team leader will brief you on ghost hunting techniques and the plan for the evening. Then your small 'social bubble' will go off to explore the Fort and carry out the investigation. The teams will be led by experience investigators who will guide you to the correct areas and how to set up the experiments. There will be regular refreshment breaks and then at the end of the evening all teams will have an online debriefing as we report the evidence recorded. We will be looking for correlations of phenomena between the groups and previous investigations we have carried out at the location - all recorded in the Casebook of Dark Encounters from the past fifteen years.
COVID-19 SAFETY MEASURES
We want all of our investigators to be safe while exploring the Fort. We are limiting numbers so every team has a different start time. You will be kept in small investigating bubbles, and you will be required to wear a mask and maintain 1m+ separation. The tunnels and caponiers are airy and often will be outdoors. To keep you safe, all equipment is regularly cleaned, following social distancing guidelines for our team leaders.
