Roh’s Opera House: A Stage for the Living...and the DeadRoh’s Opera House: A Stage for the Living...and the Dead
Join us for dinner and a ghost hunt at Roh’s Opera House in Cynthiana, Kentucky, where the history is still very much alive. Built in 1871, this historic venue has been entertaining audiences for over a century—but it’s the otherworldly performers who have truly made it infamous. This one is much bigger than it looks in the photo, as there are multiple floors and the theater/stage area! If you prefer no dinner you can purchase an investigation only ticket!
From its time as a stage for vaudeville acts to its transformation into a movie theater, Roh’s Opera House has seen thousands of stories unfold. Yet, some of those stories have never ended. Visitors and investigators alike report eerie encounters with shadowy figures lingering in the balcony, phantom footsteps echoing through empty halls, and whispers carried on the cold drafts of the old building.
One of the most infamous legends revolves around a little girl seen playing near the stage, her laughter chillingly sweet but unnervingly out of place. There are also tales of a stern man in period clothing, often spotted in the balcony, as if critiquing the performances from the beyond.
Roh’s Opera House has become a favorite among paranormal enthusiasts and history buffs. Whether you’re drawn to the charm of its historic architecture or the thrill of its haunted reputation, one thing is certain: the spirits at Roh’s Opera House are always ready for an encore.
