With the fall time classic looming around the corner, join Ranger Mike on Sat., Sept. 20, 10 a.m. - noon as he talks about America’s pastime, baseball at Fort Selden Historic Site in Radium Springs, New Mexico.Soldiers at Fort Selden took part on special occasions playing a game on the parade grounds. This was a common form of recreation for soldiers stationed out west in the latter part of the 1800’s. What goes better with baseball than a hot dog? Ranger Mike will also be firing up the firepit and grilling hot dogs for visitors. Cooking outdoors is contingent on weather and fire restrictions.
This program is included as part of general admission of $5 per adult. Free to children 16 years and younger, NM disabled veterans, NM foster families, and MNMF members.
