Papplewick 140th Anniversary Steam Weekend, September 14th & 15th.

Join us on September 14th-15th from 10am to 4pm as Papplewick Pumping Station is in steam and hosts its 140th Anniversary weekend.
About this Event

It’s been 140 years since Papplewick Pumping Stations engines were first fired up and to commemorate this, we are celebrating the wonder of engines. There will be wonderful selection of vintage vehicles on site. Everything from a full-sized Wallace & Steevens steamroller, miniature traction engines, vintage tractors to Classic motorbikes. With live music from Fitzy on Saturday and Jeanie Barton Duo on Sunday alongside the array of vintage vehicles.

The event also features all of Papplewick's engines in steam including the James Watt pumping engines and the Robey & Co winding engine formerly of Linby Colliery. Take part in guided tours of the underground reservoir or ride the miniature railway (additional fees apply). Model boats will be sailing on the Cooling Pond add to the scenic atmosphere and Lincoln Green Brewery will with us for the whole weekend.

Children can have a blast in the woodland play area, while the onsite café serves a variety of sandwiches, cakes, pies and ice creams.

Our volunteers have been busy stocking the greenhouse with an array of plants available for purchase, perfect for filling any empty spots in your garden.

TICKET INFORMATION:

Your entrance ticket is valid for the day of purchase only. Choose your entry ticket by clicking the 'SELECT A DATE' icon.

Visitors purchasing a ticket will be entitled to an Annual Pass which can be collected on the day of your visit. An Annual Pass will allow you unlimited returns to the museum within 12 months of your ticket purchase.

Under 12s are free of charge but you must still order an entry ticket for each child you bring.

Visitors with an existing, valid Annual Pass card and members of the Papplewick Association or Chesterfield Model Engineering Society DO NOT need to book a ticket but please remember to bring your Annual Pass card or Association membership card with you on the day of your visit - if you do not bring this you will not be allowed entry. Only the person whose signature is on the Annual Pass may attend.
