In this workshop you’ll learn the art of paper quilling. In paper quilling, narrow strips of paper are twirled into spirals. Those circles can be formed into different shapes and glued together to make different designs. In this class, Sara will teach you how to make a pair of paper quilled strawberry earrings. She will begin by demonstrating how to use the required tools. The demonstrations will be projected onto a screen so the whole class can see the small details in real time. You will learn how to make the basic shapes required for the project and how to put them together to make a strawberry. The skills required are beginner friendly. Detailed written instructions will be provided, and Sara will make her way around the room to give one-on-one guidance. A sample will be available for you to look at.
Sterling silver findings will be added to make your strawberries into earrings, or you can choose to take your strawberries home and use them in a different project. If you choose to make earrings, they will be sealed with Mod Podge for protection, and some drying time is required, hence the extended workshop time. It may or may not take you the entire 4 hours.
As an experienced teacher, Sara knows that everyone works at a different pace. Some participants may finish after 3 hours or even earlier, others may wish to take their time and stay the full 4 hours.
