Join Magpie Creative Reuse Collective to sculpt a paper clay flower using repurposed materials.
Artist Syd Kindberg will teach you how to turn junk paper into clay, create a sturdy flower substructure from leftover cardboard, and finish with paint for a colorful pop. A unique way to add perennial blooms to your space.

Once your flower is created or paint is drying, you’ll have time to mingle and shop the curated space of Shop Local KC. It’s a fantastic way to decompress, meet new people, and spark your creativity!

Meet Your Teacher
Syd Kindberg is an artist with a passion for finding ways to divert materials from the landfill. Creating art with materials whose potential is often overlooked is part of that passion. Her background with making art is mostly in drawing. However, she has recently been working on learning more about sculpting with paper mache while incorporating materials like used cardboard boxes, old papers, plastic packaging, and more. You can find her working on these projects at her home in Kansas City, KS or volunteering around town with places like Magpie Creative Reuse Collective!
ADDITIONAL INFO: There is parking along the front of the shops, as well as a parking lot across the street. We would like to begin at 12:00 pm, so we do ask that you arrive 5-10 minutes early, or right on time to ensure we are sticking to the schedule.
