About this Event
A practical, hands-on course on paper and watermarks as bibliographical evidence. It will explain the papermaking process and the organisation of the trade, followed by sessions to learn how to identify paper-sizes, the distinctions between felt/mould side of the sheet, and twin watermarks. It will also include an introduction to the principal watermark repertories. A basic level of bibliographical knowledge will be required for attendees to get the most out of the workshop.
