John now sings the praises of pioneers such as Son House, Tampa Red, Robert Nighthawk, Howlin' Wolf, Muddy Waters, and Johnny Winter, for whom he had the pleasure to open in 1992.John plays Blues from almost everywhere – Mississippi, Chicago, Memphis, St. Louis, Texas – but his favourite remains the Deep Delta songs that reflect so much of the social and political history of the Deep South.
