About this Event
Come learn the basics of sewing a pair of pants, and learn the Top-Down, Center-Out method of fitting pants patterns and altering pants. This class is recommended for people already familiar with the basics of machine sewing; no experience with patterns or clothes fitting needed. Participants are encouraged to bring a sewing machine, extra/spare fabric to sew a toile of, and a pants pattern of interest; however, the basic supplies including pants patterns of all sizes and sexes will be included.
This workshop is brought to you by Trans Tailoring. Trans Tailoring is a body-neutral and gender-neutral clothes-sewing workshop and skill-share in an informal workshop style, bringing sewing experts and novices together in the same room to work on projects.
$10/person
No one will be turned away due to lack of funds. If $10 is not an accessible option for you, please send us an email at [email protected] to RSVP for this workshop. You will not be asked to explain your financial situation.
INSTRUCTOR BIO
Gene Anderson (they/he) is a self-taught stitcher, quilter and designer who learned to sew clothes that fit his trans body from the generosity of queer sewing mentors, and Trans Tailoring was created as a way to continue and expand that journey with others.
