About this Event
This event blends a beginner-friendly faux stained glass craft with thoughtful learning and meaningful conversations about how we can work to unify our communities. Together, we’ll explore creative ways to “put the pieces back together,” addressing divides that often make dialogue within our community challenging. This workshop provides a shared space to listen to diverse voices, foster connection, and take home a tangible reminder of the experience.
What to Expect:
Creative Crafting: We’ll begin with hands-on guidance in creating your stunning faux stained glass piece using Gallery Glass paints. Note that the paint will have to dry briefly at Shakti and be picked up later.
Insightful Listening: After instruction, we’ll listen to a thought-provoking TED Talk or podcast about fostering understanding, bridging differences, and building unity through challenging conversations. Leaders in our community will select these prior to the event.
Community Reflection: End the session with a group debrief to discuss the talk's themes, your personal experiences, and how the lessons can be applied.
Our time together is intended to introduce space for perspectives and how to bridge divides, communicate with empathy, and lead meaningful conversations in an increasingly divided society. We’ll explore how to be advocates, maintain boundaries, and find a soft spot where fostering conversations can enrich our desires to be seen and see others!
Perfect for all skill levels and anyone open to discussion and picking up actionable ways to embody community connections, even through broken pieces.
