Panel for Women: Kickstarting Your Career in Tech

Femme Palette, International Women in Berlin and Techpace are partnering to bring together like-minded people from our communities who are interested in getting into the tech industry!

During the event we will discuss the job hunt strategy, interviewing, and offer negotiation tips for tech roles. The speakers Chiedza Muguti (Chief Platform (Product) Officer at Alteos), Dipti Dhawan (VP of Engineering at omni:us) and Seda Elibol (Sr. Product Manager at N26) will also share their own journey into tech, and will share some suggestions on how to get the technical skills in software development and product management.

Lucie Neumanova is the co-founder and CEO of Femme Palette. Lucie lived in San Francisco for 6 years and worked in a variety of marketing and design roles for tech startups (edtech, fintech) across Silicon Valley. She has experienced firsthand the impact that mentoring can have on someone’s career when switching from marketing to a UX design role, and then growing in a role as a UX designer. She feels passionate about helping people grow in their careers, creating supportive and diverse communities, and diversity and inclusion topics.

Seda is a Senior Product Manager at N26. Right after finishing her bachelor degree in 2016, she moved to Berlin from Istanbul for starting her first Product Manager position and since then she is building digital products in Berlin.

She had various mentors so far that really helped her to shape her career and navigate through challenges along the way. She is passionate about helping other people grow their career as well and thus she is part of various communities who enable it.

Chiedza Muguti is an experienced and assiduous Product Leader focussing on product management and product marketing in financial services and insurance driving the successful and impactful delivery of innovative digital solutions. Bringing people together; developing and delivering digital solutions as well as leading incredibly talented teams bringing out the best in people is what keeps her motivated every day. An immensely proud Zimbabwean based in Berlin, Chiedza has built a career combining two things she loves: People and Creativity.

Chiedza is passionate about sharing her story and experiences working in Tech and demystifying the terms to make it a field that is more accessible and desirable to work in. Her strong belief is that to build products that can capture a wide audience and subsequently drive revenue and growth, teams need to be as representative as possible.

Dipti is the VP of Engineering at omni:us. With an educational background in Computer Science & Organizational Development, she enjoys her role which encapsulates working with technical teams on many diverse topics including scaling & growth.

About International Women Berlin: IWB is an award-winning community with over 30k members, the vast majority of whom are immigrant women in Berlin. This group was founded 5 years ago by Bruna Silva, an immigrant who noticed that there was a lack of a safe space for other women to share their experiences and to have better lives in a new big city like Berlin. Nowadays, IWB is not only in the online space, but we also organise events and workshops for members to meet, connect and empower each other.
