The Embassy of Switzerland in Germany and the University of St. Gallen cordially invite you to this panel discussion.
About this Event

Solar and wind energy are becoming the backbone of electricity systems around Europe. With increasing shares of fluctuating renewable energies, questions around securing electricity system stability keep grid operators up at night. While many options for short-term storage exist, energy transition sceptics warn of the proverbial “Dunkelflaute”, a sequence of two dark November weeks when low solar radiation coincides with low wind speeds. Keeping the lights on during these dark doldrums is the holy grail of a successful energy transition. This panel discussion will feature a beauty contest of potential solutions to the problem, taking a dedicated cross-border approach.

The Embassy of Switzerland in Germany and the University of St. Gallen cordially invite you to this panel discussion in the context of the executive education programme (CAS) in renewable energy management (rem-unisg.ch).
