Many popular management theories and organisational theories rest on weak epistemic foundations, sometimes even overtly pseudoscientific ones. Recruitment processes make use of dubious personality tests – this occurs even at universities. Pseudoscience is widely applied in working life across both the private and public sectors. In this panel discussion, we will examine this multifaceted phenomenon from the perspectives of psychology, history, and philosophy of science.
The panel:
Professor Sven Ove Hansson, KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm
University Researcher Mona Mannevuo, Helsinki Collegium for Advanced Studies
Professor Katri Räikkönen, University of Helsinki
Chair: Inkeri Koskinen, University of Helsinki
You can follow the discussion at Think Corner (Yliopistonkatu 4) on 19 September at 17:00.
