With Tomas Opitz (TOBE Gallery) and Radoslav Mehandzhiyski (Sofia Art Fair)Liszt Institute Sofia, in collaboration with Sofia Art Fair, is organizing a moderated discussion with Tomas Opitz, the co-founder of TOBE Gallery. Founded in 2013 with the aim of presenting Ibero-American and Hungarian artists working primarily in contemporary photography, TOBE Gallery has been a regular participant at international art fairs since 2014. UNSEEN Amsterdam, Budapest Contemporary, and PARIS PHOTO are just a few of the prestigious art fairs where TOBE Gallery has established itself as a consistent exhibitor.
The discussion will be moderated by Radoslav Mehandzhiyski, co-founder of Art and Culture Today and a key organizing partner of Sofia Art Fair. The conversation will focus on TOBE Gallery's experiences with international art fairs, exploring how these events have impacted the gallery's commercial activities, contributed to its growth and recognition both within and beyond Hungary, and supported the career development of the artists it represents.
This event provides a valuable opportunity for the Bulgarian art community to gain first-hand insights into the risks and opportunities that art fairs present to both emerging and established galleries and artists. Attendees will also get a behind-the-scenes look at the strategic considerations involved in maximizing the potential of international events of this nature. The discussion will conclude with an open Q&A session, inviting audience participation.
The event will be held in English.
Entry is free. The capacity of our lecture hall is limited -- if you'd like to secure your seat, please register by email to [email protected]
