Anand Bhate is one of the most promising artistes in the new generation of Kirana Tradition. He had the privilege of being a disciple of the legendary Bhimsen Joshi. At the age of 10. Anand was honoured with the title "Anand Gandharv" in 1981. He won the MIFTA award for Best Playback singer for the Marathi movie Balgandharva in 2011
