No ticket is required for this event - just come along.
In February 2026, UCM will host the Pan-Island Skills Test, which sees students from the construction sector battle against each other and the clock to test their skills in their discipline. Students from Jersey's Highlands College ,The Guernsey Institute and UCM will compete in tests within:
- Brickwork
- Carpentry & Joinery
- Land Management
- Plumbing
- Painting & Decorating
- Electrical Installation
- Motor Vehicle
This event is open to members of the public from 10am on Friday 13th February 2026. Please note that the test will be paused at 12.30 - 1pm for lunch when all the workshops will be closed. The competition will finish at 4pm and there will be a Prize Presentation at 5pm.
This is a great opportunity for:
- employers and people in the relevant industries to see future talent
- families and friends to support competitors
- anyone who would like to study one of these subjects at UCM to find out what it's all about
Access to the event (excluding Motor Vehicle) is through the Construction Entrance which is through the construction (view the map of where that entrance is here https://www.ucm.ac.im/student-experience/skills-tests/pan-island-skills-test-2026/). There is ample parking near to the construction entrance. For Motor Vehicle, please visit the William Kennish campus where there is a separate Motor Vehicle workshop.
