ABOUT WILL JONES
With deep bluegrass roots and a hard-edged traditional country sound, Will Jones is carving out a space where Appalachian soul meets outlaw grit. Raised in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, his music carries both the raw heartbeat of mountain bluegrass and the fiery edge of classic country.
Born into the family band, The Cana Ramblers, Will grew up steeped in tradition. By the age of six, he was singing lead, playing guitar, and winning over crowds as the group’s natural MC. “Knowing how to entertain and hold a stage — that’s what I’m still doing now. Nothing’s changed,” he reflects.
After his sisters stepped away from the band, Will struck out on his own at 17, determined to take Appalachian music to bigger stages. Now based in Nashville, he has refined his artistry while remaining firmly rooted in his mountain upbringing. His sound pays homage to bluegrass legends like Tony Rice, Bill Monroe, and Flatt & Scruggs, while also forging a style that is distinctly his own — part front-porch picker, part highway poet.
Will’s songs, including “Lonesome Dove,” “My Country’s Showing,” and “Devil’s Den,” showcase honest storytelling, rich acoustic textures, and a Celtic undertone that nods to his Scots-Irish heritage. His career has already taken him alongside major acts such as Jon Pardi, Ashley McBryde, Josh Turner, and Tracy Lawrence, as well as bluegrass royalty like Ralph Stanley, Chris Thile, and Sierra Hull.
Now a fixture in Nashville’s songwriting community, Will continues to sharpen his craft while staying grounded by his roles as husband and father. With new music on the horizon, he is poised for a breakout built not on gimmicks but on grit, growth, and a deep respect for the heritage that raised him.
