This Lent, Minnesota Christians for a Free Palestine is organizing a pilgrimage to lament and protest the ongoing plight of Palestinians living under violent military occupation and genocidal conditions in Gaza and the West Bank. This event will be a place for Christians, Christian-lineage people, and allies of other faiths to grieve the genocide and overwhelming loss of life in Gaza, repent of our religion’s and nation’s contribution to the violence, stand in solidarity with Palestinians in the face of ongoing military occupation and apartheid, and mobilize in support of Palestinian liberation beyond a ceasefire.
This event will be a variation of the Gaza Ceasefire Pilgrimage held last year.
The 2025 Palestinian Liberation Pilgrimage reflects that a mere ceasefire is not the end of Christians’ responsibility to advocate for a just peace in Palestine.
This year’s event will take place on Saturday, April 12, timed to coincide with Palm Sunday. It will follow paved paths along the Mississippi River, starting at Kroenig Nature Center and ending at Bdote/Fort Snelling State Park.
We are seeking congregations and other faith groups to sponsor a leg of the pilgrimage, likely 1-2 miles. Sponsor groups would commit to bring a small group of participants to participate in one leg of the pilgrimage, and are encouraged to contribute to supplies or leading along the way.
