We get over 600 solicitations ever year from artists who want to play on our stage, but we only host about a dozen shows. Of all those, we thought Paleface was the best fit for Doodad Farm, so we welcome them for their first show here.Paleface is a prolific American songwriter & recording artist that performs with his partner, Puerto Rican drummer, Monica “Mo” Samalot. The high-energy & full-sound duo, is currently on tour in support of their new album Beyond the Bells, produced by Paleface, mixed by Grammy nominated enginnerJason Richmond (The Avett Brothers, John Legend), and mastered by John Greenham, who's received multiple Grammy awards, most recently with Billie Eilish.
Paleface was schooled by underground music icon Daniel Johnston, and discovered at an NYC open mic by Danny Fields (The Stooges, The Ramones, MC5), who managed him for the next eight years. Paleface has released albums for Polygram and Sire Records, and indie labels Ramseur and Shimmy Disc. He’s been called a “major musical influence” by artists including BECK and The Avett Brothers. (He has collaborated & appeared on three of The Avett’s albums, most notably as the “4th Thief” on their album Four Thieves Gone.) Additionally, Paleface is an accomplished visual artist, and his bright & bold music-inspired paintings are collected by fans worldwide. https://PalefaceOnline.com
HOW TO ATTEND: If we had a gate, it would open at 6:30 pm. Feel free to show up earlier than that, even, if you just want to enjoy the weather, have a picnic, or just hang out (though we may ask you to help set up!). The show will start at 7pm.
COST:
Doodad Farm never charges for entry to concerts, though we do request that those who are able (and you know who you are) donate at the stage area. Every penny of donations goes straight to the performers. We think $15-$20 is a reasonable donation for this show. There will also be an opportunity to buy CDs and other merchandise, and that's an even better way to contribute. As always, we ask that you surprise yourself with your own generosity to support our performers, keeping in mind that the last couple of years have been particularly difficult for musicians.
