Join us for "PAX AUREUM," a transformative five-week painting course designed to help you navigate emotions and inner challenges through artistic expression. Led by Andrew, an experienced artist and recovered alcoholic, this workshop offers a unique blend of artistry and emotional exploration.Throughout the course, you'll learn to wield line, form, and color as tools for self-reflection and growth. From mastering the basics of drawing to harnessing the power of mineral colors, each week will unveil new techniques aimed at capturing personal narratives on canvas.
Discover the art of balancing body and mind, channeling emotions into creative energy, and ultimately manifesting inner change through traditional art practices. All materials are provided within the affordable participation fee.

In this workshop:
Learn to use line and color for processing reality
Together we will deconstruct the basic act of
putting line to paper, giving shadow to form and color
to page.
The physical aspect of doing this will be tuned by
balancing one's movements with the basic geometries
of your own body. It will be strengthened by repetitive
but evolving techniques.
The mental aspect will fall into the space these
acts will create; creating a baseline of inner and outer
effort that can then be used in a directed manner.
Emotional cues manifest when this baseline is
truly met, and then can be explored within the creative
framework built.

There will be five workshops with three phases:
Phase 1:
The first part will deal with the nuance of line and form
paired with material(s) familiarization and the
fundamentals of basic intent.
Phase 2:
The second part will deepen the matter by the
considered use of a limited palette of mineral colors
manifesting and identifying the root energies of empathy
and apathy in contrast.
Phase 3:
The final one will deal with manifestation and
integration of the above concepts within the process of
the work itself.
In essence you will learn how to create records of
self vision & inner change with traditional art.
All materials will be provided within the fee.
There will be homework each week consisting of
{at most} two hours of concentration. It is important
that this aspect is taken seriously when you are
deciding whether or not to take this course.

A note from the Instructor
I am teaching these principles because they were
key in helping me process my inner demons while
recovering from a lifetime of alcoholism.
I have been making art all my life. I have had
formal Fine Art training at the Academy of Art in San
Francisco.
I look forward to meeting and working with those
who are interested.
